AF8 - CRIMP TOOL - M22520/1-01

The DMC AF8, qualified to MIL-DTL-22520/1* and AS22520/1*, has virtually unlimited applications within the specified wire range of 12 to 26 AWG. More than a thousand turret heads are available to customize the tool frame to your specific military or proprietary terminal/wire combination. The 8-indent crimp, which is standard on the AF8, ensures absolute maximum tensile strength on almost any closed barrel contact. Special indent configurations and gauges are available on request.

The precision ratchet controls the cycle of the tool in both directions of handle movement. This ensures that the crimp is equally accurate every time. The crimp depth is controlled by an 8-stage rotary knob conveniently located on the tool frame. The operator simply sets the desired level for the wire being used. This setting can be secured with a safety pin or safety wire.

A permanent data plate is attached to all turrets and positioners. This plate lists the part numbers of each contact, the corresponding color code for the position (for 3 position turrets) and the suggested selector depth setting for the wire size being used.

Apart from keeping the unit clean and properly stored when not in use, no operator maintenance is required. DMC Europe offers a full factory service by knowledgeable technicians within a reasonable period of time. Detailed instructions for use, care and warranty are supplied with each tool.

The pneumatic version of this tool is the WA27F.
