Crimp Tools

Crimp Tools

DMC® specializes in designing and building custom crimp tools for new and emerging markets. Our portfolio of crimp tools includes indent and form crimps as well as general maintenance tools (GMT). Our indent crimp tools are designed with extreme precision to deliver 8, 4, and 2 indent crimps. Our form crimp tools are capable of creating hexagonal, circular, nest and indent, b crimp, and captive crimps to name a few. Many of our tools work in conjunction with interchangeable dies, eliminating the need for separate fixed-die crimp tools. DMC has hundreds of turrets and positioners to accommodate a multitude of wire sizes and crimp depths.

Go/No Go Gages

Go/No Go Gages

DMC manufactures go/no-go gages to verify tolerances and calibrate crimp tools. Inspection gaging is an important step of any high-reliability termination process to ensure the tooling being used is in specification and will produce the precise termination expected. We strongly recommend periodic go/no-go gage inspection of all crimp tools and dies, and when inspection indicates a tool has experienced wear or abuse it is time for factory repair. In addition to go/no-go gages, DMC manufactures contact gages to aid in selecting the proper installation and removal tooling by determining the size of a contact’s mating end.

Tool Kits

Tool Kits

DMC® provides custom EWIS tool kits for individual and combined platforms. Each thoroughly researched kit contains all of the necessary tools to prepare, terminate, install, and remove wire. Tools remain organized and protected along with cross-reference materials, content charts, and instructions that allow technicians to repair complex wiring systems accurately and efficiently. Our kits are available in multiple configurations including hand-carry kits, trolley cases, drawers, roll-around cabinets, and more.

Connector Assembly Tools

Connector Assembly Tools

Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® produces a variety of innovative connector assembly tools including insertion/removal (I/R) tools, contact retention testers, adapters, banding tools, jam nut sockets, and more. These tools are used to insert and remove contacts, verify their retention, and hold connectors while installing backshell, strain-relief, or EMI/RFI shielding.
A variety of I/R tools have been designed to accommodate hundreds of connectors including mil-spec circular connectors. Probe, tweezer, and plier-style I/R tools are available in both plastic and metal allowing operators to properly install or remove contacts without damage. Contact retention tools allow for in-house quality assurance tests to check the retention of contacts within the connector. Adapter tools offer an improved method for holding connectors while assembling and torquing backshells. Our adapter tools are configured to mate with specific connector series and shell sizes regardless of the keying arrangement. Jam nut sockets are used for the installation of jam nut connectors and are an excellent choice for OEM assembly areas. Additional tools including wrenches, pliers, and vises extend DMC’s connector assembly capabilities.

Wire Strippers

Wire Strippers

Wire preparation is a critical part of building a reliable and functional electrical connection. Wire and cables function as interconnect mediums and come in a variety of configurations including single conductor, coax, shielded cables, and more. Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® offers wire strippers and cutters to support all these configurations in manual, pneumatic and electric power types.
Many of our manual wire strippers are qualified under AS5768 ensuring they meet the highest standards in place. Our hand-held pneumatic wire strippers accommodate Stripmaster® blades and cover a range of 30-10 AWG to provide the ultimate combination of performance and versatility. Precision blades, articulating arms, and interchangeable dies make Twist-Strip™ the perfect tool for preparing shielded twisted cable.

Safe-T-Cable

Safe-T-Cable

Safe-T-Cable® is designed to prevent bolts, nuts, and other fasteners from loosening in environments with excessive heat and vibration. In addition to installing three times faster than lockwire, Safe-T-Cable also produces stronger and safer results. The user-friendly tooling guarantees a consistent installation with every use. Safe-T-Cable installations eliminate sharp edges, significantly reducing the risk of injury. It also minimizes repetitive motion injuries and Foreign Object Debris (FOD). Safe-T-Cable is easy to train, and rework is essentially eliminated.

EMI/RFI Band Application System

EMI/RFI Band Application System

EMI/RFI band application systems provide effective protection against electromagnetic interference and help ensure the performance and reliability of electronic devices and systems. DMC offers multiple banding tools including one-step and two-step tools that utilize .125” and .250” stamped and welded bands.
